An 11 year old kid growing up in the time of World War 2, in Nazi Germany. Paul's father never came home after the war, yet he still believes in his return. Things get even more complicated when Paul must deal with his mother's new lover, Sam, an American G.I.

An American G.I. based in Germany after World War 2. Sam falls in love with Eva, but to truly be able to make a new life with her he must first win the heart of her son Paul.

A young German mother, having to deal with the loss of her husband in the war and raising her young son Paul by herself during hard times. The best thing that happened to her after the war was finding a new love with Sam, a soldier of the occupying US forces. Eva tries to bring the 2 people she loves closer, despite the resistance of her son Paul.
